This position will have responsibility for designing dimensional data models and establishing data warehouse (DW) data modeling standards. You will regularly interact with various development teams, project managers, business analysts and end-users to translate business needs into a data model that will be the basis for a solution that closely aligns with business requirements. This position will also develop data model metadata standards, document data modeling best practices, chair DW data modeling user groups, and review/approve data models for project teams. You will accomplish this through strong interpersonal and analytical skills and a deep understanding of specific modeling needs and a host of enabling tools, technologies and techniques (ERwin, SQL Server, STAR schema, BI/DW, Visio, etc.). Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent in professional experience; 2-3+ years experience with enterprise-level dimensional data modeling including conceptual, logical and physical modeling. Need to possess a strong ability to interact with others and have hands on experience with RDBMS, SQL Server preferred; database design, data modeling - including STAR schemas, SQL and database tuning skills. Experience with OLAP / Multi-Dimensional structures utilizing Hyperion Essbase and/or Microsoft Analysis Services is preferred. Both technical expertise and business savvy are critical, as this position will interact with clients while delivering solutions that support the clients' business strategies.
