Job/Project Details: The basic purpose of this position is to acquire the skills and training of sample preparation and analysis procedures and to perform simple sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formulations. The assistant scientist is expected to follow analytical methods and SOPs with frequent direct supervision. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: municate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction .Cooperate with coworkers within an organized team environment or work alone with supervision .Manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame .Maintain a laboratory notebook and complete all laboratory documentation in clear and accurate language and according to SOP .Perform a variety of simple sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formulations for stability testing and other studies for analytical testing support .Perform daily work assignments accurately, timely and in a safe manner with frequent supervision .Training on routine operation, maintenance and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs and regulatory guidelines. municate project status to project leader EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: .B.S. in Chemistry, or related field with no previous laboratory experience .Two year technical degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in a regulated laboratory .Non-degreed with a minimum of 6 years experience in a regulated laboratory WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: .Must pay constant attention to detail .Working in a chemical lab environment will require working with skin irritants, lung irritants, electrical equipment, sharp instruments, toxic materials, and hazardous waste .Safety procedures will be followed to minimize exposure .Able to multi-task daily .Long, varied hours required occasionally .Interaction with clients/associates required on rare occasions .Standing, walking, and twisting of upper body/neck required constantly .Lifting/carrying objects of 5-15 lbs. required daily .Crouching/stooping required daily .Kneeling and pushing/pulling of items required frequently .Lifting/carrying objects of 16-50+ lbs. required on rare occasions PPD is an Equal Opportunity Employerdf-jb
