Great manufacturing company in South Orange County is seeking a marketing analyst with 3-5 years of experience! The Strategic Marketing Analyst will support the global marketing team by researching, analyzing, identifying, and articulating business/industry issues and their impact to strategic plans. Responsible for developing and enhancing financial models, reports and presentations used to analyze industry level trends, competitive positions, vertical market positions, forecasted demand, product commoditization, discount pressure, globalization, and future competition. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Identify and quantify business/industry issues and their impact to strategic plans Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide analytical insight and product performance analysis in order to structure and execute strategic business initiatives. Apply statistical/mathematical modeling techniques to develop predictive models. Develop and maintain comprehensive financial reporting packages with emphasis on margin/contribution, including price elasticity studies. Develop price waterfall analysis and value mapping segmentation. Identify and understand segmentation strategies (product, market, geographical, motivation, customer type). Develop and enhance standard/ad-hoc reports to identify opportunity markets based on review of price, volume, share, and mix trends. Provide relevant/critical analysis and documentation of major assumptions/variances. Work with management to define financial requirements for new product initiatives. Develop forecast models to predict market-specific expected outcomes arising from specific investments. Assist in the development of the marketing budgeting and planning process. Measure and analyze program effectiveness by key event, promotion, market, and media. EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent. Three (3) to five (5) years experience in marketing analysis. Proven ability to develop sophisticated forecasting models. Strong analytical background with experience creating reports to distill insights from data; able to interpret data to drive marketing decisions. Must have advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills. Must have excellent presentation skills. Strong team player with proven ability to work productively across the organization. Ability to deliver within tight deadlines as well as handle multiple products and projects simultaneously. Excellent problem solving abilities. Ability to quickly learn and utilize new technologies.
