This position will have technical responsibility for the development, quality assurance and production SQL server environment requiring a fundamental and well rooted knowledge of the fundamental architecture and functionality of SQL enterprise. Will evaluate and recommend solutions to best meet the business needs of the company. Develop and maintain well documented policy and procedures. Perform SQL capacity planning and ensure environments are adequately scalable for anticipated growth and availability. Perform 3rd level support, problem resolution, and root cause analysis. Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or equivalent combination of education and experience. 4+ years MS/SQL DBA experience in a revenue bearing production environment. 3+ years supporting web, win-form and middle-tier based applications in a multi-server, multi-facility configuration. 4+ years development experience. Moderately familiar with Microsoft Business Intelligence stack. Expert in Stored Procedures and SQL Coding. Expert in query, index, and DB IO performance tuning Ability to manage all DB maintenance plan activities including backups, indexing, integrity, and consistency checks, etc. Proficient with Transact SQL tuning including analysis and decipher the basics of a query plan. Provide guidance and mentoring on how to tune T-SQL queries within triggers, views, and stored procedures. Familiar with SAN and NAS storage subsystems managing terabytes of data. Must understand how to implement and support the import and export of data from common types of sources using common tools and approaches. Provide guidance and direction for optimizing import / export processes. Must understand how to use ETL and alternative methods for automating the load and distribution of databases to multiple stand alone servers. Expert knowledge of MS/SQL, solid understanding of Windows servers, and basic knowledge of core infrastructure components.
