Job/Project Details: Updates client status promptly and coordinates actions with others in accordance with CalWORKs procedures. Listens carefully to clients, while firmly reinforcing the need to be self-sufficient and effectively conveying the benefits of working. Successfully places required percentage of all clients into unsubsidized employment within specified months. Reviews employment goals and makes individual job matches for referred clients. Assists clients in locating job openings by utilizing available tools, such as personal computers, software, fax machines, copiers, employment reference books, bulletins, video tapes, and community resources. Monitors and reviews the manner in which the job search is being conducted by each client and offers encouragement and suggestions for improving their job search activities. Successfully engages the required percentage of all clients to meet participation rates within specified months. Provides counseling regarding client barriers to groups or individuals. Monitors and records attendance and activities of all clients. Assists clients in resolving scheduling problems and in planning their welfare to work activities. Tracks and records all client progress and updates CalWIN as required by the CalWORKS procedures. Reports caseload performance and client status as required by the County. Perform case transfers, closings, and telephone work in support of unit goals. Performs various tasks to include office and telephone interview, data entry, schedule appointments, filing, and other case related activities. Maintain the expected Quality Assurance standards for the entire caseload and correct all identified issues. Provides courteous, high quality service to members of the public by personally responding to requests for service or making appropriate referrals. Treats employees, county employees, representatives of outside agencies and members of the public with courtesy and respect. Provides prompt, efficient and responsive service to all. Models professional business attire for participants in the performance of daily activities. Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals representing diverse cultures and backgrounds and function calmly in stressful situations, which require a high degree of sensitivity, tact and diplomacy. Exercises appropriate judgment in answering questions and releasing information, analyze and project consequences of decisions and/or recommendations. Meets all standards established for this position as outlined in the performance criteria. Performs other duties as may be assigned by Management. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or at least four years of case management experience, experience in job development, job placement, employment counseling, or job seeking skill training and motivation; experience in marketing employers and working with the business community; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment; ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously; and ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
