Title: Product Development Manager Contract to Hire Opportunity with a major health care firm internet marketing group. Pay Rate: Competitive Pay Job Description: The primary role of the product manager is to manage one (or more) projects and ongoing services. The Product Development function is responsible for effectively bringing products to the market that meet customer (e.g., member, broker, consultant, purchaser, internal customers, etc.) needs and expectations and ensures that product and operational goals are achieved. Responsibilities will include, supporting the development of an overall product from its concept through to launch. The nature of the product launch may require a product developer to participate in some aspects of product management (e.g., the launch of a complicated, new product may necessitate participation in initial product management activities within the early introduction, growth, maturity, and decline) of the new product at the post-launch scenario. The product development job function will ensure that 1) a product concept moves effectively through the gates; 2) the product business case is developed and continually managed for various product initiatives; and 3) the core team (which is the cross-functional team responsible for bringing the product(s) to market), is established and managed. Duties: Develop and manage a Product Plan and Roadmap to ensure that the product is producing desired results for the targeted market segment and regional operation, identifying key problem areas for remediation. Supports product leadership and Regional and/or Functional leaders for the delivery of key financial performance of a product in the marketplace, ensuring that results meet or exceed those outlined in the Product Management/Development Business case. Identify key actions necessary to remediate key problems/issues and make recommendations to management on steps necessary to improve Product portfolio or program performance. Supports measurements against defined performance metrics. Performs complex analysis for the most challenging Product initiatives and/or the most sophisticated market segments/largest of regions. Collaborates with or acts as the Project Manager to ensure that a comprehensive Project Plan exists for all key initiatives and routinely reviews Project and Product scorecards and timelines to conduct an impact analysis on key outcomes caused by delay or project resource gap. Responsible for tracking and/or reporting on vendor relationships, including network management where applicable. May work with vendors to accomplish joint goals. Acts as support on technical matters, to team members and cross-functional staff. Evaluate and recommend tasks relating to all Lifecycle Management activities including, Product Performance and Tracking & Reporting, Product Performance & Evaluation, Product Enhancements Planning and Product Retirement. Requirements: Business technologist Product Management skills Consulting skills are a plus Familiarity of online design principles, trends, competition, technical limitation in order to design products and relationships between suites of related products appropriately.
