Job/Project Details: DB2 DBA Location: SAN BRUNO, CAJob Description:Major Responsibilities include:* Database Administration support for DB2 databases. This includes the design, creation, monitoring, tuning, backup and recovery of DB2 databases.* Database Administration support for PeopleSoft application databases* Review business requirements and the Logical Data Model to develop an optimal and integrated database design that meets or exceeds business, data access and performance requirements* Provide database technical expertise to applications developers, operations, etc. for systems development and production support.* Provide expert consulting to MIS staff in the design, development or SQL access of relational databases.* Provide database technical consulting and leadership in database architecture and technologies.* Participate in formulating and implementing database architecture, database standards, database policies, etc. Minimum Qualifications are:* At least 5 years of extensive experience in Database Administration support for DB2.* Demonstrated ability to design, build and support large, complex and integrated corporate databases.* Detailed knowledge in data architecture, database design and database technologies.* Extensive experience in DB2 database technology. Experience with Data Sharing is a plus.* Experience in IMS database technology is a plus.* Experience in developing physical database designs and supporting production database environments.* Requires strong oral and written communication skills and an ability to effectively communicate database technology concepts.* Must be able to work on multiple database projects in a fast paced and dynamic environment.* Bachelor degree from an accredited college, preferable in Business or Computer Science concentrations, or equivalent data processing experience.* Prior programming experience, including REXX and CLIST, is a plus.df-jb
