| Job/Project Details: |
PURPOSE: Perform routine, complex as well as very complex systems analysis and programming activities which may require extensive research. This position is for Developers who have acquired enough prior academic and business experience to assume a technical leadership role in the Organization and independently execute the needs of the business with only broad, high level direction from Sr. Staff. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Receives tasks as technical design to be implemented within a given architecture and application framework from technical lead – 10%. Reviews and accepts technical design, makes improvements to technical design where possible and acceptable – 10% Estimates task effort accurately and reports accurately on measurable progress metrics – 10% Identifies dependencies and risks regarding the task which have not been identified and communicates those to team lead in a timely manner – 10%. Constructs application to meet 100% of standards, architecture and technical design – 30%. Ensures application meets functional and non-functional requirements, executes functional, concurrency and performance testing – 15%. Executes acceptance testing, ensures application will pass acceptance testing before submission to QA dept – 15%. KEY SKILLS: Problem Solving - Developers in this position are expected to be able to solve problems of considerable technical complexity, as well as frequently being able to solve problems in cases where specifications are inexact or incomplete. Communications - The ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, with users, subordinates, peers, superiors and others. Consider clarity, timeliness, appropriateness, effect and outcome of communications. They are expected to clearly communicate their program function to QA, Documentation and other departments as they require performing their duties. They are often expected to interact with Tech Support or customers to solve specific problems relating to their development area and sometimes other areas. Supervision - Developers in this position are expected to be able to perform assigned tasks with a minimum degree of management supervision. Initiative and Resourcefulness - Employee should be a self-starter, handles unforeseen difficulties, develops new ideas and handles usual work situations. Planning and coordination - Employee plans and organizes to achieve job objectives, sets priorities among activities; utilizes available resources, copes with changing conditions and unforeseen events, assumes responsibility for completion of ones own work and meets deadlines. TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5+ years experience in Software development and delivery Minimum 3+ years of Dot.Net Experience Visual C# (Primary Language) Ability to read and understand code in C, C++, Visual Basic, Coldfusion, TKL and other popular languages Experience with Dot.Net Interop Minimum of Associates Degree with a Software Development Major or MCAD certification would be preferred, but not required CMS/Content Management System (Interwoven Teamsite) and/or Portal (Plumtree/Aqualogic) experience Experience with Enterprise Application Integration and Security Experience with Software Patterns and industry best practices Experience with performance testing, code review and unit testing tools and procedures Candidate should be familiar with Windows operating systems, databases, and highly distributed application software. Project experience / knowledge of Windows Services SOA and Messaging architectures Web Services (XML/ WSDL/ SOA), Dot.Net 3.0 WCF preferred Encryption, secure protocols COM and unmanaged code interfaces FTP, Sockets, SMTP exposure Enterprise Library Start Date: 09/22/08 or 09/29/08 Duration: 6 months Location: NE Atlanta area (outside the perimeter) Rate: DOE (Local)df-jb |
