| Job/Project Details: |
The duties for this position include: Perform electrical design and component specification and selection for equipment including, but not limited to: dry-type power and distribution transformers to power levels of 10,000 KVA and voltages up to 34.5 KV inductors/reactors up to 5000A medium and low-voltage switchgear assemblies Perform component material and enclosure specifications relative to applicable standards, in collaboration with structural analyses and designs performed by mechanical design team members, in order to meet or exceed customer requirements on selected new designs. BSEE, or equivalent, with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in electrical design of transformers, reactors, and switchgear utilizing OPS electromagnetic design software or equivalent software packages. Working knowledge of AutoCad, Excel, and MSWord. Working understanding and demonstrated practice of basic math and dimensioning skills. Working knowledge of applicable standards (NEC, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, UL, and CSA). Ability to read and understand mechanical assembly drawings and detail specifications. Valid drivers license. Experience with SolidWorks a plus. Experience in developing products to meet DNV and ABS standards a plus The electrical design engineer must be able to effectively communicate with other design engineers, quality control, purchasing, and sales engineering staff, assemblers, and manufacturing supervisors and managers. Reliability and attention to detail are important elements in this position. The position requires the individual to maintain a good attendance record and to stay current with applicable standards, good design practices, and CAD software developments.
