We're looking for an experienced Systems Engineer. ***LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY******* Summary Plan, implement, manage, maintain, secure and document the company's Windows and Linux systems infrastructure within a regulated environment. Expected to provide support to IT Projects Group and other business groups within the organization as needed. Develop and maintain related corporate procedures, standards and processes. This position is a hands-on technical role. This position may be required to work outside of production hours including weekends. This position is part of the IT Infrastructure Group. Position responsibilities may change over time. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT ? Design and implement solutions to support IT Projects group. ? Provision, maintain, support and troubleshooting existing systems, both in-house and third-party. ? Install, maintain, support and troubleshoot workstation, server, network and printer hardware. ? Installing and supporting corporate software applications. ? Participate in disaster recovery design, implementation and exercises. ? Level 1 support for production server issues. ? Service desk backup and relief. ? Level 2 (escalated) support for end-user issues (deskside support). ? Perform preventative maintenance and operating system/application upgrades. ? Identify possible future hardware and software deficiencies and plan for upgrading when necessary. IT GOVERNANCE ? Maintain a uniform configuration on all servers and networking equipment. ? Adhere to all security policies, procedures & standards. ? When required, review proposed changes to production network by Project group members. ? Suggestions for improving IT operational processes. DOCUMENTATION ? Manage and maintain list of current projects and tasks. ? Help management define and implement infrastructure standards. ? Keep inventory of systems equipment and operating system levels. ? Maintain record of software licenses. ? Keep up-to-date diagrams of infrastructure and connections at all sites. ?
