WEB DEVELOPER – INTERACTIVE CONTENT
Our client is recognized by the Olympic Committee as the National Governing Body and membership organization for a sport. As this sport increases in popularity, we seek enthusiastic candidates to join our team at the national headquarters for the organized sport of bowling, located in Arlington, Texas. We are currently looking for two qualified and experienced Web Developers to work in our Interactive Content Team!
The Web Developer is responsible for maintaining and improving company web properties. Primary responsibilities include development of code using Java, Servlets, SQL, JSP, CSS, and JavaScript, HTML and relevant coding standards, application design, resolving production issues if they arise. Must have excellent communication skills that can be used to effectively communicate technical concepts to business teams, translate business requirements and functional specifications into software and suggest innovative solutions to business problems/processes that leverage technology to provide marketing differentiation, performance improvements, and better user experiences. Interact well with others, such as Architects, Testing, Analysts, and Release Managers as a lead member of the development team in order to accomplish the business goal.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Work collaboratively with creative and application development teams on HTML/CSS and JavaScript development. Leads small teams of developers
• Writing server-side Java and PHP or other server side code to interact with Back-End applications
• Configure applications that support the website efforts for example setting up Ad Servers, Analytics, Search and other application software
• Perform Copy Updates, Textual Changes, and Image Changes, Image Change Out and Style Updates to company website or other websites the media team develops for the client. These changes may include modifying images through Photoshop and similar applications. Flexibility to work on nights and weekends
• Ensure that all outgoing projects have passed through all established Quality Assurance processes
• Work on multiple complex initiatives and priorities simultaneously
• Actively communicate status and issues to project managers and users
• Apply best practices for search engine optimization
• Perform other special projects as assigned to further advance operating objectives and mission
Qualifications
• Expert level with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Cross-browser issues, W3C specifications required
• Expert level with Ajax, JavaScript frameworks, web standards required
• Usability and Accessibility issues, specifically Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 required
• Understands the necessity of and contributes to coding standards
• Utilizing XML web services in application development required
• Source control, and build tools (Subversion, Maven, Ant) required
• 2 + years of strong experience in PHP, MySQL required
• 2 + years of strong experience in JSP, Java required
• Object Oriented Design and Development required
• 2 + years of strong experience in Soap Web Services required
• Expert level with Adobe Photoshop required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Understands how to write secure JavaScript code for the web
• Understands how to write high performance JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Information Systems or related major or experience preferred
