Job/Project Details: Education Requirements: Minimum of AA degree required or trade years of experience  

Responsible for day-to-day administration of UNIX equipment and monitoring/resolving problems in a world-wide network of SUN servers headquartered at the Pentagon.

Ensure compatibility of the installed software & hardware baselines. Resolve noted system incompatibilities & inconsistencies.

Troubleshoot software & hardware problems, and identify, implement, & document system fixes. Maintain awareness of and participate in planning of upgrades.

Participate in the installation of new software baselines.

Requirements

2 + years experience directly related to this position.

Demonstrated UNIX, Solaris 9, Solstice Disk Suite experience.

RAID Systems and tape backup systems. Ability to write clear, concise problem descriptions and their solutions using Remedy Trouble Ticket System.

Ability to teach same to junior co-workers. candidate must be willing to support a work schedule from 6 AM start time and a 6 PM closure time.

The work shift can be either 4 days X 10 hrs or 5 days X 8 hrs.  

Security Clearance Required.

Metro/parking allowances are available.
