| Job/Project Details: |
Manufacturing company in Blasdell seeks experienced Tool & Die maker for 1st shift, Temp to Perm job. Tool & die makers make, repair and modify custom-made, prototype or special tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and gauges using various metals, alloys and plastics which require precise dimensions. They perform some/all of the following duties: 1)Read/interpret engineering drawings & specifications of tools, dies, prototypes or models 2)Prepare templates & sketches & determine work processes 3)Compute dimensions & tolerances & set up machine tools 4)Position, secure, measure & work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining 5)Set up, operate & maintain a variety of conventional & CNC machine tools to cut, turn, mill, plane, drill, bore,grind or otherwise shape workpiece to prescribed dimensions and finish 6)Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as vernier callipers, micrometers, co-ordinate measuring machines (CMM's) & electronic measuring devices 7)Fit & assemble/disassemble parts using hand tools 8)Test completed tools, dies, jigs or fixtures for proper operation 9)Program CNC machine tools.df-jb |
